An array of sensations on the palate. Starting with red jams, followed by spices and finishing with hints of tobacco and cocoa.

Food Match: A beautiful match to grilled red meats, game and medium to mature cheeses.

Tramonto D'Oca is one of the wines that represents Poggio Bonelli's quality at the height of this expression. This wine has ruby red colour with garnet hues that result from its ageing. It contains a complex nose preceeding a gradual entry on the palate. The taste opens with an array of sensations ranging from red jams to pepper and cinnamon spices and closes with hints of tobacco and cocoa. It has a long and lingering finish.

Best served at 16-18 degrees C.

Wine production in Poggio Bonelli has been carried on since the 16th century. Sought after by the most prestigious noble families of Siena, the Poggio Bonelli estate was run by different owners in the course of the centuries. Poggio Bonelli is now part of a large Estate (including the Chigi Saracini Farm) called MPS Tenimenti. The property consists of 2300 acres of land (most are arable lands and olive plants).

The Terroir of Castelnuovo Berardenga helps in producing wines that tend to be most ripe and richest  tasting, differently from other areas of the Chianti Classico where wines could have a very delicate aroma  and flavour, or characterized by their structure, firm tannins and concentrated flavours.

Temperatures are 1 /1,5 degree Celsius (average) higher than in the northern part (close to Florence) and the soil is mainly characterized by some tuff and clay components with underneath a rock skeleton part.
