A beautifully balanced intense ruby red wine, most appealing nose and soft on the palate with a lavish texture

Food Match: Ideal with grilled and roast red meats and medium to mature cheeses. The Poggiassai IGT Magnum is a wine with great personality. Ruby red with warm penetrating aromas of red fruit, mushroom, tobacco pepper and chocolate. Does not fail to reach expectations! On the palate it is soft with complex flavours, supported by a well balanced, elegant fabric of tannins which develops continuously with ageing. Never too exuberant in alcohol and freshness. Wine production in Poggio Bonelli has been carried on since the 16th century. Sought after by the most prestigious noble families of Siena, the Poggio Bonelli estate was run by different owners in the course of the centuries. Poggio Bonelli is part of a large estate (including the Chigi Saracini Farm) owned by MPS Tenimenti. The property consists of 2300 acres of land (most are arable lands and olive plants). The Terroir of Castelnuovo Berardenga helps in producing wines that tend to be most ripe and richest  tasting, differently from other areas of the Chianti Classico where wines could have a very delicate aroma  and flavour, or characterized by their structure, firm tannins and concentrated flavours. Temperatures are 1 /1,5 degree Celsius (average) higher than in the northern part (close to Florence) and the soil is mainly characterized by some tuff and clay components with underneath a rock skeleton part.
