Producer's notes -

" Vermentino Vr is the fruit of our youngest vineyard grapes selection. The fermentation takes place in small oak barrels. Due to the quality of our grapes, the wood is well integrated with the fruit and displayes maquis-scented and citrusy nose. The delicate crispy and mineral flavors make the taste very pleasant, the aftertaste is lengthy and persistent."

Soil: clay-sandy

Harvest: hand-harvesting. Time of year: 12th September

Barrel Maturation: 7 months in barriques. Frequent batonnage to stir the fine lees. Followed by 3 months of bottle aging.

Frank & Serafico have at their disposal grapes coming from different production areas of the Tuscan Maremma. With regard to the white grapes, these vineyards are inside the Maremma Nature Reserve and the countryside of Magliano in Toscana. The soil in these areas contains a high percentage of sand, which is ideal for giving aromas and freshness to the wine. The red grapes come from Morellino di Scansano and Montecucco areas. These are stoney soils and the grapes acquire splendid ageing qualities. Our goal is to express the best of the terroirs of the Maremma, carefully producing wine using grapes having different features and potentialities.
